Scriptures: “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
On Wednesday, I had an opportunity to visit our Corporate Center in Pasadena. It has been more than 2 months since I last visited that facility. So, on the way there, I kept wondering if the card key would work. I didn’t know if the card key would expire. When I finally got there and found that the card key still worked, it was a great relief to me, knowing that I still have access to this facility. Because of that, I knew I could continue to visit my friends there any time without having to worry about being denied the access.
This experience reminds me of a similar experience at home. One time, a friend of mine visited me and we decided to go play tennis in our community tennis court. It was after dinner and was about 8 pm when we got there. We played for about an hour and then, having sweated a lot, we stood around and chatted for quite some time. As a matter of fact, we were having such a great time that we totally forgot about time. By the time we realized that we needed to go, it was past ten already. When we tried to leave, we found that the gate was locked and we were locked in. So, we had to call the security to open the gate for us. But the security never showed up. So, we ended up climbing over the fence to get out.
We have been granted access to many good things in life. However, these earthly accesses are never perfect. Sometimes they may expire, like our corporate access cards. Sometimes, they come with a timer. Still other times, we may lose our keys by accidents or by theft. They are simply not perfect.
Bible tells us that we have been privileged to access the throne of grace in heaven. Jesus is the key we have to open the access to this glorious throne. This key will never be damaged, nor will it be stolen, nor expired. There is no timer either. He is always good.
Whenever we feel the need to talk to Him, He is always there. We don’t even need to perform any ritual in order to approach the throne of grace. It’s simply a prayer away. We may be lost when searching for things, for directions, for comfort, for healing, for encouragements, for purpose and meaning in life, or for companionship. But He is never lost and is always more than resourceful in meeting our needs and beyond.
The best part is “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) He never changes; His love never changes; His faithfulness never changes; His power never changes; His protection and guidance for us never changes; His plan for you and me never changes. Praise the Lord for He who has all authority in heaven and on earth is not only willing to be our Lord and watch over us, He also opens the riches of God to us all so we may be able to live a triumphant life here in testimony of His salvation.
Thank you, Lord!
Prayer Requests:
For those who are in desperate need of healing, encouragements and companionship
Prayer:
Our gracious Lord, thank You for Your unchanging love and commitment to us all. We pray that, with Your guidance, we make the best use of this privilege You have granted us to approach the throne of grace for the glory of God. Thank You for being there for us always. We thank and pray in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus, Amen!
