Welcome

Following the example of our friend and brother in Christ, Bob Hommel, a couple of us thought that it would be good to create this blog, where we could share inspirational thoughts and be edified and strengthened in our Lord Jesus Christ

The Bible says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sins that easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” Hebrews 12:1-2

We pray that this blog will bless you as a place where we fellowship together and are encouraged in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How is our Integrity?

Scripture: 1 Kings 9:4-5a

“As for you, if you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever.”

On my wall in my cubical I have a copy of Avery Dennison’s Vision and Values to remind me of the high standard we have here at Avery. As a Christian, these values align closely to my personal values.

Integrity is a value that God recognizes and rewards. After King Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, God appeared to Solomon and promised him that his royal throne would be established forever IF he walked before the Lord with integrity of heart and uprightness.

The online version of the American Heritage dictionary defines integrity as a “steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code” and the Avery Dennison value of Integrity says that we are to “act honestly, ethically and honorably.”

This makes me feel good that we work in a place with high moral standards, but it also makes me want to keep alert so that nothing could be misunderstood to the contrary. In order to do this I pray what the psalmist prayed in Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”

Prayer Request

For those who are struggling with things in there life that God’s grace would be upon them.

Prayer

Dear Lord,
Please give us a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit of God to help us live a life that is honorable, and full of integrity, so that you will be glorified in our life and that others will see that we love you. Amen

Amen! Our walk with our Lord has to and must have been visible to all people around us. Such demand for holiness is clear throughout the scriptures. I am thankful that our Lord has prepared brothers and sisters to share and to support so that our walks can reflect the grace and truth of Him!

Thanks for this important reminder!
